Karen & Jess

Itinerary Name:Karen & Jess's ‘Wheelie’ Fun Day in Altamonte Springs

Influencer Name: Karen & Jess

Hi! We’re Karen and Jess, the Tourism Director & Manager for Orlando North, Seminole County. When we’re not in the office making magic happen, we’re either trying new restaurants or out exploring the wilderness somewhere. A few of Karen’s favorite things include geriatric dogs, Studio Ghibli films, video production, and traveling to new places. Jess loves bonfires on the beach, getting lost in a bookstore, portrait photography, and kayaking in the springs. Make sure to follow Do Orlando North to catch us behind the scenes of our projects and to discover new places to explore in Seminole County!

The Seminole Wekiva Trail

The Seminole Wekiva Trail is a 14-mile, paved trail that weaves all throughout Seminole County. For those who enjoy a bike ride, this is the perfect trail to see it all. David’s World Cycle, located in Altamonte Springs in the West Town Corners shopping center, is a great place to stop for all of your biking needs. They have a wide array of biking gear, helmets, and a repair shop to fix any issues your bike may have. If you don’t own a bike and would like to rent one, the David’s World Cycle located in Lake Mary, FL offers bike rentals. We tried out their selection of electric bikes and found they were a great choice for an easy and comfortable trail ride. The rental shop is also conveniently located right next to the Seminole Wekiva Trailhead in Lake Mary, which will take you all the way to the Altamonte Springs location.

Lawless Subs

Lawless Subs is a local hidden gem that will curb all of your lunch cravings. This family owned and operated restaurant has called Altamonte Springs home since 1992 and they have continued to serve up exceptional subs and service through the years. Their bread is made fresh daily, and each sub is stacked with all the meat and toppings of your choice. We tried their signature Lawlinator sub as well as the Italian on their French French bread and were not disappointed. They also offer several options for sides. We chose to stick with the carbs and devoured their scratch-made potato salad. Lawless is a great spot to stop for a quick bite to eat or pick-up for a picnic in a nearby park.

Pholicious

To finish off the day, we decided to journey to the Altamonte Mall to do a little shopping. Somehow there was still room in our stomachs, so our first stop was the food court to try a smoothie from Pholicious. We ordered a Lychee smoothie with kiwi flavored popping boba as well as the Blueberry smoothie with lychee & coconut boba. Both were excellent and the perfect drink to cool off from being outside for most of the day. They also offer a wide array of pho and Vietnamese banh mi if you were looking for an actual meal.

Vanishing Point

Next, we checked out the Vanishing Point, located on the upper level of the mall. This is one of those shops you could spend hours in and find something new every time you turn around. They offer hand curated selections of women’s and men’s accessories, trinkets, and gifts. They also have a nice selection of masks and swimsuits. This is the perfect store to shop at for any occasion.

Cranes Roost Park

Since Cranes Roost Park is right next door to the mall, we decided to grab another bite to eat from the food court and walk over to the park to catch the sunset. Lucky for us, the sky put on a dazzling show as we ate and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
