Black Hammock Airboat Rides

Today we are taking you on a very Florida adventure - an airboat ride! Black Hammock is the perfect place to see Florida wildlife. It is so thrilling seeing an alligator in the wild! And THIS is the perfect place for that. The Florida Fish and Wildlife estimate that about 13,000 alligators live in Lake Jesup! And not only is it a perfect place to spot gators, but you can see so many different types of birds as well.

Playa Pizza

After our adventure at Black Hammock, we headed over to Playa Pizza. They have so many options for vegans! We ordered the But Where Will You Get Your Protein? which had vegan cheese, vegan pepperoni & lots of veggies! We absolutely loved the beach vibes here.

Day 2

Black Bear Wilderness Area

We started our day with a peaceful 7.1-mile hike through the beautiful Black Bear Wilderness Area. Along the way you will experience a variety of wetland habitats within the floodplain of the St. Johns River, as well as an array of wildlife. On our trip we saw lots of turtles & our favorite Florida native, the American Alligator. You also have a chance to see the Florida black bear, white-tailed deer & river otter! Black Bear Wilderness Area is free to the public and is absolutely the most beautiful hike we have experienced in Florida!

Dharma Southern Kitchen

We were famished after our hike so we headed over to our favorite spot in Sanford, Henry's Depot. This food hall has something for everyone and is incredibly vegan-friendly. If you are craving southern cuisine, you have to check out Dharma Southern Kitchen. Pictured is a Boricua Dog, Buffalo Mac & Cheese & the Dharma Fried Chick'n Box. Yep, it's all vegan!
