Congo River Golf

Congo River Golf is an 18-hole miniature golf course located in the heart of Altamonte Springs. Not only did it offer a one-of-a-kind minigolf experience but also includes a scavenger hunt while we played. We scoured the scenic course for clues and ventured through caves, waterfalls and pirate ships. After the round we fed the alligators freeze dried chicken which was definitely a highlight for the kids.

I Heart Mac & Cheese

If you or your kids love mac and cheese, I Heart Mac & Cheese is for you. They served a variety of different mac and cheese bowls ranging from Italian style to seafood mac and they even had a mac and cheese stuffed sandwich. We loved everything and can’t wait to go back and try more. Our favorites were the signature mac bites and the gooey baked cookies, this is a new favorite local spot for us!

Lukas Nursery and Butterfly Encounter has all the tools you need start a garden or maintain your landscape. Aside from the nursery stocked full of plants, they have an incredibly beautiful butterfly garden. In the last room, you can touch butterflies and even put them on your nose for the perfect photo op. It was such a fun experience and they provided nectar that the butterflies loved. On the way out make sure to stop in the souvenir shop for treats made from local honey.

The Crepevine in Altamonte Springs has a massive variety of sweet and savory crepes to choose from. While the kids loved the sweet ones loaded with chocolate, my husband and I really enjoyed the savory ones. They also offer fresh salads for those seeking healthier options. It’s great to try for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Day 3

Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens

The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens in Sanford has a wide variety of local and exotic animal exhibits. They even offer interactive opportunities to get up close and personal with the animals. Our favorite was the giraffe exhibit, where a giraffe named Gage took food right out of our hands. We also met a cute alpaca named Jake who loved being fed and pet. They also have an indoor herpetarium with dozens of venomous snakes from around the world.

Plan Your Visit

Krazy Greek Kitchen

Krazy Greek Kitchen really blew us away with their authentic Mediterranean cuisine. We loved how you can tell that all the food is made fresh in house. Even if you have picky kids, they have some more traditional options for them. I would go back for the pita and tzatziki sauce and the Chicken Aegean. My husband raved about his Gyro Platter, which they said is one of their hot sellers. It has become a local favorite in Lake Mary.

Arcade Monsters - Oviedo

Arcade Monsters in Oviedo is one of the biggest arcades we’ve seen here in Central Florida. The best part is that you only pay once and can play all day long. They have everything from eclectic old school arcade games like Donkey Kong to newer games like Mario Kart Racing. They also have shooting games, pinball and even a Nintendo Switch to play Super Smash Brothers. This arcade can really appeal to all ages since there’s such a wide variety. It’s a must visit for all video game lovers.
