Additional Event Information

Visit the Museum of Seminole County History to experience a special Seminole 250 exhibit. On display through July 3, How Far We Are Bound, and Where We Are Free invites visitors to reflect on the region’s history.

Long before Florida became a state in 1845, early American leaders and revolutionaries imagined its place in the nation’s future. Their legacy is complex, remembered by history as both visionary and controversial. This special Seminole 250 exhibit invites you to explore those perspectives and decide for yourself.

Spanning 250 years of history, the exhibit traces how Central Florida reflects the broader American experience. From early exploration and expansion to the growth of diverse communities, the region has embodied the ideals that shaped the nation. Along the way, visitors will discover stories of ambition, conflict, resilience, and service that continue to define Seminole County today.

Through artifacts, interpretation, and storytelling, the exhibit connects the founding vision of the United States to the people and places that make our community unique. It is an opportunity to reflect on the past, better understand the present, and consider what lies ahead.

Experience this exhibit at the Museum of Seminole County History, located at 300 Eslinger Way in Sanford. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit seminolecountyfl.gov/museum
