For travelers flying into Orlando Sanford International Airport, the vacation doesn’t have to begin with a long drive to a hotel.
The newly opened Comfort Inn & Suites Orlando Sanford Airport sits on East Lake Mary Boulevard, just minutes from SFB. The hotel offers complimentary airport transportation, free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, and an outdoor pool. Cruise travelers can also access transportation to Port Canaveral through the hotel’s transportation partner.
More importantly, staying in Seminole County puts visitors close to plenty of local experiences while keeping the rest of Central Florida within reach.
You can spend the day checking off some of the area’s biggest attractions and return to a place that feels a little removed from the traditional tourism corridor.

An Easier Way to Get Around
Visitors also have a newer option for exploring Seminole County: Scout.
Think of Scout as Seminole County’s affordable, on-demand transportation service. Instead of following a traditional bus route, riders request a trip within Scout’s service areas and a vehicle comes to them. Trips can be requested through the Ride Freebee app or scheduled by phone.
For visitors, it’s another way to get around locally without automatically reaching for the rental car keys.
Scout also connects riders with Seminole County’s four SunRail stations in Sanford, Lake Mary, Longwood and Altamonte Springs. From there, SunRail opens the door to even more of Central Florida.
For example, a visitor staying in Sanford could use Scout to connect with the Sanford SunRail station and ride south for an afternoon exploring Winter Park or Downtown Orlando — without spending the day navigating unfamiliar roads. SunRail’s route continues even farther south through Central Florida, including Kissimmee and Poinciana.
In other words, staying in Seminole County doesn’t mean staying only in Seminole County.
But Don’t Spend Your Whole Vacation Leaving
With so much nearby, it may be tempting to fill every day with somewhere new. But some of the best vacation days may be waiting right here.
Spend a morning or evening exploring Historic Downtown Sanford, where local restaurants, breweries, and shops are just a short walk from Lake Monroe.
Families can visit the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, while those looking to experience a little more of natural Florida can head toward the Wekiva River for kayaking, paddleboarding, and time on the water.
